South Florida Children’s Charity Sets Date for Fundraiser



The fundraising arm of Place of Hope, Ambassadors of Hope, will have a social, networking and donation-inspiring event Aug. 6, 2013, in Palm Beach Gardens.

The faith-based nonprofit organization not only wants to provide fellowship for its members but also wants to raise proceeds for the children it serves as the 2013-14 school year approaches.

The event will take place from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the new restaurant Kabuki on PGA Boulevard, near PGA National. Food and beverage specials will be available throughout the evening, and guests are asked to bring back-to-school supplies to the event for donation.

Guests Fly from Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., to Neverland with 'Peter Pan'



An all-children’s cast presented Peter Pan the musical at The Borland Center for Performing Arts in Palm Beach Gardens.

The magical tale about the little boy who never wants to grow up, Peter Pan brought back the characters Tinkerbell, Wendy, Michael and John, who fly over London and find Never-Never Land and encounter the evil Capt. Hook. Each of the eight performances took place at the center in Legacy Place near PGA National.

Among the cast members in Peter Pan were Abby Scalici, of Jupiter, and Sidney O’Gorman, of North Palm Beach. Authored by James Matthew Barrie, Peter Pan first was performed in 1904 in London at the Duke of York’s Theatre.

American Heart Association Fundraiser Takes Place at Old Palm Golf Club

Go Red for Women Girl’s Night Out brought a cadre of crimson-clad supporters to the residence of sponsor Andrew Broadleep. The mission of Go Red for Women is to raise awareness about spur activism for the No. 1 killer of women, heart disease.

Downtown at the Gardens To Have Fashion Affair


 Resource Depot will be the beneficiary of a fancy and fashionable event set for Jan. 26, 2013, at Downtown at the Gardens.

Guests will be able to see select merchandise at the Palm Beach Gardens shopping center’s unique boutiques, with models showing off the newest fashion trends in Centre Court. In addition, guests will be able to sample far from Downtown at the Gardens’ restaurants, and there will be live entertainment.

Tickets cost $30, and proceeds will benefit Resource Depot, a nonprofit organization that collects recycled materials from businesses and homes in Palm Beach County  and uses them for art projects in public schools.
